Wonderful feedback being received for The Heart of a Soldier, a book centered around my father’s letters sent home during World War II. The book shares my father’s thoughts and experiences as a World War II soldier, in both training and combat, with the added element of romance provided by my parents’ love story. The letters are entwined within a narrative that describes significant events and circumstances during World War II that provide context for my father’s service, as well as the training and combat path of my father’s unit, the Sixth Armored Division, which fought in the European Theater with General George Patton’s Third Army. The book provides an interesting way for those who enjoy reading to learn about World War II blended with a little love and occasional levity provided by my father, uncles and others.
